Forgotten Treasures

Today is Day #4 of Book Blogger Appreciation Week!

Today’s Topic: Sure we’ve all read about Freedom and Mockingjay but we likely have a book we wish would get more attention by book bloggers, whether it’s a forgotten classic or under marketed contemporary fiction. This is your chance to tell the community why they should consider reading this book!

This is difficult because I love to review books that are more obscure. Of course, this is partly due to the fact that I can't afford to buy the current bestsellers, but I also love to find unknown used books at the booksales that constantly are being hosted in my town.

One of favorite obscure books is Five Finger Discount by Helene Stapinski. This is a sad and funny book of growing up in Jersey City, New Jersey -- before it's current revival and gentrification. Jersey City was well known at the time (well, it still is) for political corruption.
